Our Vision, Values & Ethos

Church Preen Primary School

A Federation is a formal partnership between two or more schools that work together under a shared leadership and governance structure. For small rural schools such as ours, being in a Federation brings many advantages while still keeping the unique character and close-knit community feel that parents value. By working together, schools in a Federation can share expertise, resources, and opportunities—offering children a richer and more varied educational experience.

Mission
Our mission is to keep rural schools at the heart of our communities. Our small schools are our strength. We know our children individually, understand their unique learning style and provide tailored support in a nurturing and familial environment that allows every child to not only succeed but to thrive. Through our Federation we are more than the sum of our parts providing our children with curricular and extra-curricular possibilities and opportunities which engage, enrich and excite them.
Vision
Our vision is to educate, inspire and empower generations of children through a network of schools that are recognised at a local and regional level for developing enthusiastic, resilient and independent children. Through high quality teaching and a commitment to excellence we will inspire a love of learning and confidence in each child’s unique abilities. By embracing a sustainable and collaborative structure, we will continue to evolve and grow, ensuring that our schools remain a cornerstone of opportunity and success for generations to come.
Values
In all we do, and all that we encourage our children to do, we value:
Generosity:
“Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out” (Frank A Clark)
Trust:
“Trust is the most valuable thing you will ever earn” (Anon)
Courage:
“Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it.” (Mark Twain)
Justice:
“Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both.” (Elanor Roosevelt)
Service:
“You are what you do, not what you say you will do.” (C. G. Jung)
Truthfulness:
“Be truthful, gentle and fearless.” (Mahatma Gandhi)
Ethos
We are a safe, nurturing and inclusive school that puts children and our community at the heart of everything we do.
